Stacy Gomes, EdD

Dr. Gomes serves as Provost at California Institute for Integral Science. Prior to joining CIHS, she served as Vice President Academic Affairs at Pacific College of Health Sciences with an impressive career spanning 27 years. She has a wealth of experience and expertise in driving growth, accreditation, and advancing research initiatives.


Dr. Gomes received her master’s degree in education technology, instructional design at San Diego State University in 1997 and her doctorate in educational leadership at the University of La Verne in 2006.


She is a board member for the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine where she serves on the Education and Conference Planning committees. She has held numerous higher education Board of Director positions and served as advisor to both public and private universities and organizations, including serving in the following capacities:


  • Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health: Executive Board

  • Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine: Fellowship Curriculum Developer, Leadership Task Force, Council of Advisors

  • Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine: Site Visitor, Doctoral Task Force

  • Council of Colleges of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine: Executive Board

  • Department of Veterans Affairs; Health Services Research and Development Service Reviewer

  • UC Irvine Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine: Clinical & Professional Advisory Committee,

  • UCSD Center for Integrative Medicine: Board of Directors,

  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges: Site Visitor, Assessment Leadership Academy.

  • Her expertise is in higher education accreditation, assessment and program evaluation. She writes, consults and trains on accreditation, assessment, curriculum design, faculty development, program evaluation, research design and student learning.


Dr Gomes has guided institutions in achieving national recognition, obtaining critical accreditations, attracting world-class faculty and implementing innovative technology solutions for academic instruction and student support. Through affiliations with top-ranked universities, and her strong health care industry connections, Dr. Gomes has overseen several NIH grants, launched integrative medicine research initiatives, and guided faculty and students in the successful completion, publication, and presentation of their research.
