Duties for the program director to include:
Program advisory responsibilities for students in the psychology department, MA and PhD, general, integral, and licensure-track.
Provide curriculum oversight for psychology program coursework in congruence with WASC standards, BOP licensure requirements, as well as the vision and mission of CIHS/Motoyama philosophy.
Promote the program actively to prospective students.
Assist the CIHS WASC accreditation application in all ways pertinent to the psychology programs.
Further develop the clinical psychology licensure-track program in the following areas:
Develop relationships with outside agencies for potential student practicum/internship placement;
Create practicum courses focused upon building core competencies in clinical settings;
Develop assessment procedures for monitoring practicum student progress.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A doctorate in clinical psychology from an accredited university.
Currently licensed as a clinical psychologist in California, in good standing.
Evidence of recent scholarship.
Teaching experience at the graduate level and ability to teach most core courses in the Psychology Program at CIHS.
Experience with program development and community liaison partnerships.
Experience with online course delivery technology and student information systems.
Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Psychology program curricula.
Knowledge of, and interest in the intersection of consciousness studies, science of consciousness and clinical psychology.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes, curricula, and faculty performance.
Knowledge of and experience with accreditation standards and their application.
Experience with management skills: decision making, collaborative leadership, conflict management, and motivation.
Local residence in the greater San Diego, CA area or willing to relocate to that area.
Established in 1992, CIHS is a non-profit 501(c)3 institution and global leader in integral education and research at the interface of science and spirituality. CIHS is approaching Initial Accreditation and is poised to grow its departments. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic person with the skills to manage expansion of the Program and the University in the coming years. The 2.5 acre campus is located in Encinitas, north coastal San Diego County.
