California
Institute for Human Science’s 10th Anniversary
Celebration & Graduation Commencement Offers Hope of a Humane Global
Society
Encinitas, CA – September
21, 2002 – The California Institute for Human Science (CIHS) is a
graduate school dedicated to the scientific study of how mental,
biological, and spiritual life operate together. CIHS believes the
task of humankind in the 21st century is to prove
scientifically that human life can only be comprehensively
understood tridimensionally, as
body-mind-spirit.
The keynote speech, given to
the 7th graduating class at CIHS, by Dr. Stanley Krippner,
a professor at Saybrook Institute, addressed the emergent threats to
societies around the world based upon the unlikely alliance of
religious
fundamentalism and super sophisticated technologies. Dr. Krippner’s
vision is aligned with CIHS in that he
believes in the integration of religion and
science and that the person must be viewed holistically as
consisting of
mind-body-spirit.
On hand to offer support and
congratulations to CIHS from the City of Encinitas was Deputy Mayor
Jim Bond. Mayor Bond offered his gratitude in having such a unique
institute that has the potential to enhance the advancement
of human sciences not only locally but
globally as well.
As president and founder of
CIHS, Hiroshi Motoyama, Ph.D., Ph.D. gave a compelling address
filled with pride in congratulating the graduating students and hope
for a society supported by love, wisdom and trust.
Dr. Motoyama is a visionary with
extraordinary spiritual insights not only in religious philosophy
but also in a
holistic worldview. His understandings of human spiritual growth
are important for establishing a global society.
As a teaching and research
institution, it is hoped that students who receive higher education
here will thereby be able to contribute to the planned evolution of
a truly global society. CIHS, despite being a small graduate
school, will continue taking firm steps to move towards realizing
these great goals.
