Phase 1: What is Subtle Energy?

Dr. Shigenori Nagatomo, who has been teaching at Temple University for eighteen years,  will present the concept and phenomena of ki-energy  and their relation to the living body and living nature.  Dr. Nagatomo specializes in East-West comparative philosophy,  and has been interested in investigating a practical dimension  (self-cultivation) of  the eastern meditational traditions such as Yoga, Buddhism, and Daoism. In this workshop he will discuss the idea of Ki (Qi), while examining the difference in the methodological foundations of both Eastern and Western philosophy.

Daoist Understanding of the Living and Lived Body

 

 

 

Phase 2: How can  we Measure Subtle Energy?

August 9, 10 & 11, $190

   Participants will experience the AMI and learn the measurement and evaluation of  subtle energy. The AMI data give the idea of connective tissue condition and functioning of the acupuncture meridians and their corresponding internal organs.
