Statement on the Announcement of the
CIHS Journal
by Hiroshi
Motoyama, Ph.D., Ph.D.
Founder and President of CIHS
CIHS is pleased to announce the
publication of the CIHS Journal, a new journal aimed
at creating and supporting an emergent academic field
integrating religion and science, materialistic western
medicine as an applied science based on biological studies
of molecules, atoms, and quanta, and subtle energy medicine,
which takes the human body as an energy system grounded in
Yoga tradition and Eastern medicine.
Through the
discoveries of Albert Einstein and Max Planck, whose most
famous mathematical equations are formulated respectively as
E=mc2 and E=hf2, we know that all
matter can be converted into energy. In spite of this
discovery, it is regrettable that Western medicine as an
applied science has not prioritized the investigation of
energy medicine.
At CIHS,
we have been conducting research on the human body as a
schematized energy system, following the lead of texts from
within the Yoga tradition describing mystical experience,
while incorporating clinical experience obtained through the
use of Eastern medicine. Although it has been a gradual
process, we have now verified the existence of an electric
generator within the acupuncture meridian system through
experiments we have conducted employing a photon counter
from the standpoint of electrophysiology. Moreover, we have
discovered scientifically that a signal of the meridian
system as an information system differs from that of the
nervous system, and yet both systems show a high degree of
correlation as they function together in order to maintain a
balance of biological energy while controlling organic
functions.
This new
type of scientific research in energy medicine cannot be
performed unless electro-physiological measuring devices are
invented anewÑdevices
that have both the capacity to obtain accurate data and the
ability to maintain constant repeatability of data.
Moreover, this new research requires a deep knowledge of
both Eastern and Western medicine.
While the
Western medical tradition has not conducted sufficient
research in subtle energy medicine, CIHS has been collecting
clinical data for half a century with knowledge in both of
these medical traditions.
It has
almost been fifty years since psychosomatic medicine was
established as a medical field. In that time, its findings
have primarily focused on clinical reports of correlations
obtained between the mind, emotion, and the body. However,
we must point out that no scientific finding has thus far
been submitted on the “mechanism” demonstrating the
mind-body-spirit correlation.
Recent
research in brain physiology had led to claims that there
are close correlations between specific parts of the brain
and activities of the mind, including memory, thinking, and
emotion. However, the measured data in this type of
scientific research deals with changes in the hormonal level
of a specific area of the brain, changes in the volume and
flow of blood, and fluctuation in the electromagnetic
field. None of these factors inform us of any “mechanism”
concerning how these physio-chemical changes relate to
consciousness, and specifically free will.
To
understand human existence from the holistic perspective of
body, mind, and spirit; this is one of the principles upon
which CIHS was established. Toward this end, we have
attempted in our research to discover a “mechanism” of
subtle energy operative in the acupuncture meridian system
by using AMI, and correlation of the body, mind, and spirit
by using a differential amplifier precision device and a
biophoton counter.
Though we
have successfully obtained some remarkable results, we have
found that journals catering to traditional mainstream
science do not accept these new findings. We would like to
encourage those researchers who have experienced similar
difficulties to submit their research findings to the
CIHS Journal, as long as they are in line with the
principles, and
provided that they maintain viable scientific research
methodologies that include accurate, repeatable data, and
deep understanding of both Eastern and Western medicine. We
are looking forward to receiving your submission.
Principles
Ø
To Promote a Soceity which
Enhances the Integration of Science and Religion.
Ø
To Understand Human Existence
from an Holistic Perspective of Body, Mind and Spirit.
Ø
To
Establish Guiding Principles for the Citizens of the Global
Society.
Ø
To Establish Subtle Energy
Medicine, which will Prevent Diseases and Promote Health.
Ø
To Elucidate the Mechanism of the Mind-Body
Correlation, and Actualize Mental Control over Body (or
Matter) for a Betterment of life.
Ø
To
Systematize Meditational Practices on both Subjective and
Objective Grounds, which will Promote Spiritual Growth.
Ø
To
Establish a Society which Satisfies both the Individuality
(e.g. Freedom and Rights) and Sociality (e.g. Morality and
Coexistence) of Human Existence.
Ø
To
Establish a Creative Science which Researches the Mind and
Soul as well as Matter
To suit the context of the CIHS Journal, the following three
principles have been added:
Ø
To Conduct Scientific Research
on the Subtle Energy Flowing in the Meridians Existing in
the Dermal Tissue.
Ø
To
Conduct Scientific Research on
Correlation
Between Subtle
Energy and Physiological Constitution (or Personal
Character).
Ø
To
Conduct Scientific Research on
Correlation
Between Subtle
Energy and Cakras (Spiritual Sacred–Energy Centers)
