Editorial and Publishing rights
Copyright:
Publications are
copyrighted for the protection of the authors and the
publisher. A Transfer of Copyright Agreement will be sent to
the author who submits the manuscript. The corresponding
author must sign and return the completed form transferring
copyright ownership of the manuscript to CIHS press before
the article can be published.
General Policies:
By submitting to us, authors implicitly agree to a
number of editorial and publishing policies that are central
to our mission.
●
Informed consent was obtained for studies on humans
after the nature and possible consequences of the studies
were explained.
●
Authors
agree to disclose all affiliations, funding sources, and
financial or management relationships that could be
perceived as potential sources of bias.
●
The
paper will remain a privileged document and will not be
released to the press or the public before publication (for
more information, please see entry on our
embargo
policy.

submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author accepts
the responsibility that all authors have agreed to be so
listed and have seen and approved the manuscript, its
content, and its submission to us. Any changes in authorship
must be approved in writing by all the original authors.
●
We
will not consider any paper or component of a paper that has
been published or is under consideration for publication
elsewhere. Distribution on the Internet may be considered
prior publication and may compromise the originality of the
paper or submission. Please contact the editors with
questions regarding allowable postings under this policy.
Permission:
The inclusion of
any copyrighted material or previously published material
[e.g., direct quotations, tables, or illustrations] must be
accompanied by written permission for use from the copyright
owner and original authors along with complete information
about the original source. Authors are responsible for
obtaining permission and payment of any fees associated with
reuse.
All CIHS Journal content must be used "as is." Editing or
modification of published materials is prohibited, including
extraction of text or images for other use. Distribution of
material from CIHS e-Journal or CIHS Press on the Internet
or other external network without permission is explicitly
prohibited.
Reprints & Permissions
Reuse or republication of materials from this Web site may require
permission from CIHS Press.
Embargo Policy
An explanation of our policies regarding press contact prior
to publication of submitted or accepted papers.
Availability of
Materials and Data:
An inherent
principle of publication is that others should be able to
replicate and build upon the authors' published claims.
Therefore, a condition of publication in CIHS e-Journal
is that authors are required to make materials, data and
associated protocols available to readers on request. Any
restrictions on the availability of materials or information
must be disclosed at the time of submission of the
manuscript, and the methods section of the manuscript itself
should include details of how materials and information may
be obtained, including any restrictions that may apply.
Web-based
Publication:
We will allow,
without specific permission, web-based publication of the
abstract of an article as soon as it appears in the CIHS
Journal, since CIHS press already publishes all abstracts of
its current and recently published volumes on its own web
site. Again, we would request appropriate recognition be
given to the journal and links be established to our web
site should readers desire to access all abstracts in a
given issue or to subscribe to the journal by joining the
association.
