Introduction to Sound, Voice and Music Healing Modalities

with Silvia Nakkach, M.A., MTT

June 30, 2018  10:30 am – 5:00 pm

From the way of the shaman to contemporary modalities of auditory stimulation, we know that sound is vibration and vibration permeates all things. Sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. One reason soundheals on a physical level is because it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Through multimedia and scientific research, this experiential class examines the impact of sound to redress imbalances on every level of psychophysical functioning and how can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder. We will experience and deepen inquiry into state-of-the art modalities of frequency delivery, the voice, and the multilayered relationship among the scientific, physiological, cognitive, and artistic impact of sound on human behavior, consciousness and the environment. This class is open to all levels of sound and music practitioners interested in earning a precise vocabulary to inspire action and to advance their sound healing practice.

Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, is a Grammy-nominated musician and a renowned vocal artist and educator. She is the creator of the CIIS Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts certificate program, a former psychotherapist, and a leading voice in the field of music in consciousness and shamanic practices. She is the founder and the artistic director of the international Vox Mundi School of the Voice devoted to research, teach, and preserve sacred and unusual vocal cultures as spiritual practice. She has released 15 CD-albums, and is the author of Free Your Voicewww.voxmundiproject.com
