Principles of CIHS

As a community of learning, CIHS seeks to fulfill its mission by participating in three kinds of activity. It educates undergraduate and graduate students; it promotes research into the areas of life physics, psychology, comparative religion and philosophy, and integral health; and it strives to contribute to the betterment of the larger community.

CIHS seeks:

  1. To promote the integration of science and religion;
  2. To inquire into the human existence from the perspective of the body-mind-spirit connection;
  3. To provide integral education which educates the whole person;
  4. To foster an interest in energy medicine as a method of preventing and promoting optimal health and wellbeing;
  5. To promote the mind over matter principle as a way of improving human existence;
  6. To foster meditation practices aimed at personal growth and spiritual development;
  7. To create a learning environment where individual rights and freedoms are respected;
  8. To create an educational environment where relationships are grounded on mutual respect;
  9. To foster creative research methods of inquiry into the relationship between matter, mind and spirit;
  10. To conduct scientific research on subtle energy;
  11. To inquire into the applications of the meridian theory (the meridian points) in the treatment of physical, mental, and psychological issues;
  12. To conduct scientific research on correlations between subtle energy, body, and human psyche;
  13. To investigate the relationship between subtle energy and the energy centers known as “kakras” (aka chakras).
