California Institute
for Human Science (CIHS) offers its students a
transformational experience that lasts a lifetime. By

CIHS is widely known
for its cutting edge research into the field of energy
medicine with a device called
AMI, which is an
apparatus to measure the function of the meridian points
invented by Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama
.
In 1992 Dr. Hiroshi
Motoyama established CIHS in the beautiful, progressive town
of
Encinitas
Southern California. CIHS is a diverse community. Today the
Institute provides bachelors, masters and Ph.D. degrees for
dozens of students from all over the globe. And its
enrollment numbers continue to grow. Academic programs are
offered in Integral Studies, Life Physics, Clinical
Psychology, Comparative Religion and Philosophy, and
Integral Health.
Dr. Motoyama
holds that personal spiritual experiences are an
ontologically valid dimension of the human existence which
operates with, but cannot be restricted to, either the
biological realm or the psychological realm. This is the
basis for the tridimensional model (body-mind-spirit) upon
which the Institute was founded. Dr. Motoyama designed the
tridimensional model after decades of research on subtle
energy and personal meditation practices.
To provide education
aimed at bridging the gap between science and spirituality
is key to the mission that drives CIHS, with all areas of
campus and curriculum inspiring students to develop and
experience the body-mind-spirit interconnection. CIHS
faculty and academic consultants are the cream of the fields
of energy healing, integral studies and consciousness
expansion research. They are distinguished professionals
with decades of working experience in their fields of
expertise, which means that CIHS students receive an
education that moves theory into practice. CIHS is
