Course Withdrawal

CIHS’ official withdrawal date is the second week of the quarter in regular quarters. The deadline for submitting a request for course withdrawal is the second week of the quarter. On-campus students must make sure to submit the Request to Drop Class Form before the class meets for the second time. Each class session counts for 10% of quarter instruction. Students who drop a class after attending only one class session have a right to full refund, but a withdrawal fee of $25.00 will apply per course dropped. The same rules apply to intensive courses and Distance Learning students. Online students must make sure to submit their withdrawal request by email before the second week of the quarter. Online students must be aware that every week of the quarter counts for 10% of the instruction.

Students will receive a pro rata refund for the unused portion of the tuition and other refundable charges if they attended 60% or less of the quarter. A grade of “W” will not be recorded if the student drops a class before the class meets for the second time. A “W” grade means withdrawn and has no impact on the student’s grade point average (G.P.A.). Students receiving V.A. benefits will receive a pro-rated refund for any unused portion of the course tuition.
