Life Physics Program

The Life Physics programs emphasize the body component of the tridimensional model of human life upon which the Institute is founded, i.e., body-mind-spirit. But the tridimensional view does not consider the body in isolation. On the contrary, the Life Physics emphasis on objective physical measurement, instrumentation, and energy theories aims at elucidating the physical manifestations of the body-mind-spirit complex. At no time does the program lapse into the kind of unidimensional reductionism that is characteristic of conventional Western science (including medical science).

It cannot be overemphasized that the idea of “subtle energies” specifically refers to ontologically real features of human life (and thus to an expanded physics and biology) which fall outside of what has been identified by contemporary Western science. It is fully expected, for example, that scientific study of the Meridian system, of ki energy, etc. will ultimately yield definite identifications of new forms of energy which obey their own domain laws and which interact with forms of energy already identified in physics (gravitational, electromagnetic, strong and weak nuclear forces). The Life Physics programs aim at preparing students to ultimately participate in research at a professional level in this exciting realm. At the present time it can be observed that this research field -- namely the exploration of subtle energies and practical applications to preventative medicine and the treatment of illness -- has already become part of “establishment” medical research in numerous University and institutional research settings in America (with funding commitment by the National Institutes of Health). It is the wave of the immediate future because it appears that conventional, unidimensional allopathic medicine has gone as far as it can go in the prevention and treatment of many “diseases of civilization” (cancer, heart disease, and so on).

Here is a sample of what our graduates currently do:

· Acupuncturist, lectures and do workshops on Korean Hand Acupuncture

· Industrial human relations specialist

· Works in a holistic clinic in England

· Expert in biofeedback and neurofeedback, has been asked to write a manual on peak performance by a U.S. (national) biofeedback association

· Renown psychic, lectures and do talk shows (both radio and TV)

· Computer expert, expert in artificial intelligence, Qi-Gong master, minister

The M.A. program provides a solid foundation in basic sciences such as physics and biology. This foundation allows students to discriminate between different types of energies comprising/making the physical structure of the body as well as help them understand the differences between common physical energies and subtle energies. Some clinical applications of the use of sound and biofeedback are also included in this program.

Building upon the foundational work done at the masters level, the Ph.D. program prepares the student for advanced research in subtle energies and integrative or holistic medicine by considering the body has a whole with interactive/complementary parts in constant communication with each other through nervous connections, biochemical messengers, and more subtle communications systems such as the meridian system. The student is introduced to laboratory work and hands-on training using different equipment as a basis for more advanced research in the field of Life Physics.
